Williston City Information
Williston was originally founded as another of North Dakota's railroad stations in 1887. It was incorporated as a village in 1894 and became a city ten years later.
Williston lies in an important historical area, near the Lewis & Clark trail and surrounded by former military sites, some of which have been restored.
The town is surrounded by agricultural land but the oil, gas and mining industry and tourism have also led to development over the years.
